Overlays #1: New Photography by Ben Flood

Overlays #1 event

Virgil Art House presents Overlays #1, an exhibition of photographic works by Ben Flood exploring the way places, moments, and visual memories accumulate over time. Flood’s layered compositions bring multiple images into a single frame, allowing streets, interiors, landscapes, architecture, and fragments of human presence to overlap and dissolve into one another. The resulting photographs sit somewhere between documentation and abstraction, transforming familiar environments into dense, dreamlike records of perception.

Sample Works

The exhibition will feature six framed works from the Overlays series along with a selection of additional unframed pieces. Moving between the urban density of Los Angeles, quiet domestic spaces, and natural landscapes, Flood’s photographs invite viewers to spend time looking through the layers and discovering details that emerge, disappear, and reappear across each image.

Join us for the opening reception on Friday, November 20 at 7 PM at Virgil Art House. Ben Flood will be on site to discuss the work, his process, and the ideas behind the series.

Admission is free and RSVP is requested.
