Virgil Art House is an independent art gallery, creative event venue, and music rehearsal studio located in Virgil Village, Los Angeles. Our mission is to create a welcoming space where artists, musicians, makers, and the community come together through exhibitions, performances, workshops, and creative events.
We’re currently transforming the space through a series of renovations while preparing for our grand reopening, and we’re looking for someone to help document and share that journey.
About the Role
We’re seeking a creative, organized, and reliable Social Media & Content Creator who lives in the Los Angeles area and can regularly visit our space at: 620 N. Hoover St., Los Angeles, CA 90004
This is a hands-on role that combines content creation with social media management. You’ll capture photos and videos, edit engaging content, schedule posts, and help tell the ongoing story of Virgil Art House as we grow into one of Los Angeles’ premier independent creative venues.
Responsibilities
- Visit Virgil Art House regularly to capture photo and video content.
- Document renovation progress, including projects like our music rehearsal studio, gallery improvements, and outdoor spaces.
- Capture content during exhibitions, workshops, performances, and community events.
- Edit short-form videos for Instagram Reels, Facebook, and YouTube Shorts.
- Schedule content using Buffer or a similar social media management platform.
- Assist with content planning and maintaining a consistent posting schedule.
- Photograph artists, musicians, installations, and behind-the-scenes moments.
- Help maintain a cohesive visual identity across our social channels.
- Collaborate on new content ideas and campaign concepts.
Ideal Qualifications
- Based in the Los Angeles area with reliable transportation.
- Experience managing Instagram, Facebook, and YouTube.
- Strong photography and videography skills using a DSLR, mirrorless camera, or high-quality smartphone.
- Comfortable editing short-form video using tools such as CapCut, Adobe Premiere Pro, Final Cut Pro, or similar software.
- Excellent visual storytelling skills.
- Self-motivated, dependable, and organized.
- Interest in art, music, community events, or creative culture is a plus.
